Traumatic Foot Amputation with Surgical Debridement and Below Knee Amputation - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit begins with one lateral view of the left foot and ankle illustrating the post-accident condition clearly revealing the traumatic mid-foot amputation with fracture and disruption of the remaining tarsal bones and the avulsion of the skin, tendons and soft tissues up to the level of the ankle. Next, one image illustrates the surgical procedure during which the remnants of the devitalized soft tissues cut away from the foot. Finally, two images illustrate the eventual below knee amputation showing the division of the soft tissues and bones of the lower leg and the flap closure of the amputation stump.
